The Florida Coral Reef Protection Act was enacted in July 2009 and makes it illegal to anchor on or otherwise damage coral reefs in Florida. This applies to coral reef and hardbottom communities in Martin County, Palm Beach County, Broward County, Miami-Dade County and Monroe County.
