Sailfish landed in North Carolina must be reported at state operated reporting stations. Prior to removal from vessel, all billfishes, swordfish and bluefin tuna must be reported to NC HMS reporting stations. You must report recreational landings of billfish in North Carolina by calling 1-800-338-7804.

Individuals not retained must be released in a manner that will ensure maximum probability of survival, but without removing the fish from the water.
